THE MET IN NEW LIGHT - II
This is part two of our exploration of The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s newly illuminated and re-installed galleries of European Paintings: 1300-1800. The much-anticipated new installation mixes different regions, cultures, and styles, pairs traditional and modern artworks, emphasizes women and other previously overlooked artists, and offers a revision of the story of European painting. Touring the second half of the galleries in the chronology, we will have a comparative exploration of works by Velasquez, van Gogh, Rembrandt, Dali and others, through vividly detailed images.
